Eastern China’s Hangzhou city will start limiting car sales today amid a “war” on pollution, Reuters reported, citing a Tuesday statement by the city’s government. Authorities have proposed restricting sales to 80,000 units every 12 months, to be split evenly over that period, according to the statement on the city’s official website. A final decision on details of the curbs will be released at the end of April. Other major cities, including Shanghai and Beijing, have imposed similar curbs to fight against snarling traffic and heavy smog in the world’s largest automobile market.
