Harbin cuts water for four days

The November 13 explosion at a petrochemical plant in Jilin city, on the Songhua River 230 kilometers from Harbin has prompted Harbin municipal authorities to cut the water supply to the city of 8 million, causing widespread fear as well as food and water hoarding, AFP reported. Officials, who took actions to guard against chemical contamination after the explosion, said water supply would resume in four days.
