Heavy rain will continue in several regions in China, although some are already badly flooded, AFP reported. The rains will continue in Fujian province in the southeast and Liaoning in the northeast. Two typhoons have hit China's southeastern coast in the past few days, during which more than 23,000 people in Guangdong's Leizhou peninsula were evacuated after record levels of rain. On the island of Hainan, 2,000 people were evacuated from the capital city, Haikou. Official figures say 712 people were killed and 163 people were missing in July alone. Economic damage caused by flooding is estimated to be at least US$6.9 billion. Millions were evacuated in July, particularly people living along the course of the Huai River, which runs through Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu.
