Hilton has signed agreements to manage the Doubletree in Beijing and the Doubletree in Kunshan. Both properties are scheduled to open in 2008.
In Beijing Hilton now has a long-term agreement with China Overseas Real Estate Development Corporation to manage the Doubletree by Hilton Beijing. The hotel will be in the southwest quarter of the city on Guanganmenwai Street, 8 km from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
The Beijing hotel will have 455 bedrooms, 98 residences and three food and beverage outlets, including 24-hour dining. It will be part of the mixed-use Lar Valley International Development and will provide a health club, a pillarless ballroom (for MICE events) and a unique roof garden.
Doubletree in Kunshan is owned by Kunshan Guangting Property. The hotel is in the town of Huaqiao between Shanghai and Suzhou. Our illustration comes from the countryside near Huaqiao. The hotel is about 35km or 45 minutes from Shanghai city center and situated near the expressway that connects Shanghai, Kunshan and Suzhou.
The hotel will have 397 bedrooms, three food and beverage outlets, two ballrooms and a wide range of conference and banqueting facilities. It will also have a large health club and a swimming pool.
Hilton Hotels currently operates six hotels in China, including Hilton hotels in Shanghai, Beijing, Sanya, Chongqing, Hefei and a Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong. Future development plans include a Conrad Shanghai opening in 2009, a Hilton Dongguan opening in 2010, a Hilton Taiyuan opening in 2009 and a Hilton Chongqing Resort and Spa opening in 2009.
