A delegation of government officials from the Guangxi city of Liuzhou said it had signed deals worth US$800m with Hong Kong companies on a recent visit to the SAR. The agreements are to develop infrastructure in Liuzhou and cover a variety of areas, including underground pipeline projects and two wastewater treatment plants with a daily capacity of 500,000 tonnes.
Guangxi is one of the provinces included in China's 'Go West' programme, under which investors enjoy favourable policies such as tax concessions.
