In Hong Kong the Kai Tak cruise ship terminal has been hanging fire with no private bids to construct and run it. So that government will take on the task and wil lease it to a cruise ship operator once complete.
The government will retain ownership of the site.
The first of four berths is scheduled to be operational by mid-2013, with the terminal due to be completed by 2014-2015.
Official Wire states the development of a cruise terminal in Hong Kong will be of crucial economic benefit to the territory.
PS. The name Kai Tak came in1922 when two businessmen Ho Kai and Au Tak formed the Kai Tak Investment Company.
