Hospital blast kills 27

An explosion at a hospital in Shanxi Province has killed at least 27 people, state media reported. The cause of the blast, which is believed to have originated in an underground garage, is under investigation. Originally 17 fatalities were reported at the medical facility for employees of Xuangang Coal and Electricity, and the number of fatalities could climb as rescue efforts continue. Most of the victims were staff and members of the families, a hospital official told state media, adding that the firm had "no idea how many people were still missing."
