Hotel tent camping on Hainan

Hainan, China’s tropical island offered tent-rooms, to cope with the travel boom during China’s Lunar New Year festival.

Visitors to Hainan during the Lunar New Year festival were offered rooms in tents. Li Xiangxin, a tourist staying in the tent hotel room in Sanya, a coastal resort city on the island province compared the price of $392 for a standard room in the hotel to a tent house priced at $80 a night. The tent supplies nearly everything you get in a standard hotel room.
The provincial holiday and travel coordination bureau reported there were 100,000 tourist arrivals on Wednesday of the Spring Festival which was the highest daily record.
The holiday travel rush had driven up cost for hotel accommodation in the province.
The cheapest room at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Sanya was going for $2,694 while the most expensive was $5,051 a night. Prices for a room at the Hilton Sanya Resort range from $1,6370 to $2,350, according to ctrip.com, a leading travel website.
EnglishNews.cn  reported a survey of Hainan’s 21 hotels showed they accommodated 8,703 travelers on Wednesday at the height of the Lunar New Year festival.
