HP to significantly increase China presence

Computer maker Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced that it will significantly increase its investment in the Chinese market and will begin selling digital cameras and home entertainment systems on the mainland. A spokesman for HP said that the US-based company plans eventually to introduce its entire line of consumer products to China. HP ended its China operations in 2001, returning to the mainland in mid-2003. The company said it plans to open at least 1,000 stores in more than 100 Chinese cities.
