Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation is donating US$50m over five years to a programme called Investing in Nature. The money will be given as donations to three conservation charities, World Wildlife Fund, Botanic Gardens Conservation International and Earthwatch. Projects in China that will benefit include the restoration of river basin habitats in the Yangtze region and an education programme to increase awareness of the importance of the value of plants.
