Hu congratulates Bush

President Hu Jintao congratulated US President George W Bush on his reelection sayng that since Bush became president, China and the United States had made significant progress in cooperation in various fields. Hu said the US and China had benefited from both countries playing a positive role in promoting peace and development, an opinion that contrasted sharply that of with former Foreign Minister Qian Qichen who earlier in the week accused Bush of destroying the alliance against terrorism and promoting a policy of world domination.
