Huawei denies all US charges

Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei has issued a statement denying all charges made by US authorities in two indictments made public Monday, Caixin reports.

“The company denies that it or its subsidiary or affiliate have committed any of the asserted violations of US law set forth in each of the indictments,” the statement read.

The two indictments accuse Huawei of multiple counts of bank and wire fraud, obstruction of justice and theft of robot technology from rival telecom firm T-Mobile.

Huawei also denied any wrongdoing by Meng Wanzhou, the company’s chief financial officer and daughter of founder Ren Zhengfei, who is currently being held in Canada over accusations that she committed bank fraud in order to fund projects in Iran.
