Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies has filed a lawsuit against the US government in an attempt to overturn the US federal ban on Huawei gear, reported the South China Morning Post.
The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court in Plano, Texas, the location of Huawei’s US headquarters. Guo Ping, Huawei’s rotating chairman, said in a statement, “This ban not only is unlawful, but also restricts Huawei from engaging in fair competition, ultimately harming US consumers.”
The Chinese firm is banned in the US from supplying its products to federal agencies in the country’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
