In his first state visit to the US since taking office in 2003, Hu is expected to quell US concerns about China's rising military and economic clout; Taiwan, North Korea's nuclear program and energy cooperation are expected to be on the agenda when Hu meets with US President George W Bush. Hu is also expected to meet with US lawmakers, business people in Seattle, which is said to include Bill Gates, and deliver a speech at Yale University.
