IBM boosts its training presence in the PRC

[photopress:IBM.gif,full,alignright]IBM has signed an MOU with China’s Ministry of Education to provide masters and doctorate degrees in services science and management engineering in 50 universities. The programs will train prospective services professionals in industrial engineering, computer science, operations research and other fields, using real businesses as case studies.

IBM’s CEO Sam Palmisano is currently on a tour of China and while in Beijing, said “We strongly believe that development of an effective services science curriculum in Chinese universities will have a direct impact on China’s economic growth.”

In the past 12 years IBM has spent US$180 million collaborating with education organizations.
