Intercontinental Hotels Group Chief Executive Andrew Cosslett and the new Holiday Inn image

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a deal with Shimao Group to open six new hotels under three brands in four cities in China by 2013.

The hotels will carry the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts brands.

The six new hotels are: InterContinental Beijing City Centre, (to open in 2012 with 330 rooms), InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland (to open in 2013 with 380 rooms), InterContinental Fuzhou (to open in 2013 with 360 rooms).

Then there is Crowne Plaza Shaoxing (to open in 2013 with 460 rooms), Holiday Inn, also in Shaoxing (to open in 2012 with 310 rooms) and Holiday Inn Mudanjiang (to open in 2012 with 260 rooms.)
