India and China plan border dispute resolution

A meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York last Wednesday between Hu Jintao and Indian President Manmohan Singh was enough to persuade both men it was time to end the border dispute that has complicated relations between their countries since 1962, the Daily Times of Pakistan reported. India claims China is occupying 38,000 square kilometers of its Kashmir territory while Beijing argues that the 90,00-square kilometer Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh belongs to China.
