India and China began the sixth round of border talks in a bid to resolve a dispute that has languished since a 1962 frontier conflict, Agence France Presse reported, citing Indian and Chinese officials. India says China occupies 38,000 square kilometers of Indian territory in Kashmir while Beijing says the 90,000-square-kilometer Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is Chinese territory. Work is under way to reopen a section of the Silk Road next month at Nathu La pass on the border between India's Sikkim and China's Tibet, marking the first direct trade link since the 1962 border conflict.
