Industrial output up 19% in April

China's industrial production in April grew by 19% year-on-year, the fastest rate of growth in more than a year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The bureau said that industrial production and other economic indicators for the rest of the third quarter were likely to be high due to the economic effects of the SARS outbreak during the same period in 2003.
