Mainland industrial production in May was 18% higher than during the same period in 2003, according to data from Mainland Marketing Research in Beijing, which releases information on behalf of the National Bureau of Statistics. April industrial production was also 19% higher than it was in April 2003. Analysts said that increases could be related to disruptions to production caused by SARS last year.
