Information security regulations reduced

China announced that it planned to simplify market entry for foreign information security companies. The Ministry of Public Security, China's top authority on information security, said new regulations would require quality certification of new products, such as anti-virus software, solely used for information security protection. Other related security software would not require testing or certification. Under previous regulations, the ministry required all forms of information security software to be approved before allowing the software to be marketed on the mainland.
