Intel China has announced a co-operative agreement with Shanghai's major internet cafe service provider, East Networks, to promote internet accession and value-added services. Intel China will provide East Networks with its technology and products and build infrastructure facilities for the nextgeneration, broadband internet services, including cable and wireless services. It will also train technicians and provide consulting services for East Networks and help to develop the support system for server and desktop computer applications.
East Networks, a state-owned enterprise, operates more than 260 internet cafes in Shanghai, providing one-third of the city's cafe-operated PC terminals.
