Japan may file WTO complaint against China

Japan may join a World Trade Organization (WTO) complaint filed by the US against China over its industrial subsidies, AFP reported. The US government has claimed that China's state subsidies for steel, paper, information technology and other industries prevent US companies from competing fairly. "As of now, we are asking for detailed and concrete information from the Chinese side," said Akira Amari, Japan's minister for economy, trade and industry. "Based on our findings, we hope to decide as soon as possible whether to join (the US complaint) as a third party". China is Japan's largest trading partner.
