Kidnap risk for new rich

China's Ministry for Public Security warned of a growing risk of kidnapping for ransom of members of the country's new rich. In a statement the ministry said nearly 4,000 people were kidnapped in 2004, most of them in the fast developing east coast regions. It added that entrepreneurs, celebrities and students from rich families were most at risk of being kidnapped.
