The Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) announced on Monday it has uncovered 32,000 "irregular" cases in the first 60 days of a 100-day land-supply enforcement campaign, China Business Net reported (in Chinese). According to the figures released by the MLR, 2.3 billion square meters of land involved in irregular usage, including illegal expansions of land and occupying land before the approval of a lease. The violators must be punished, said ministry head Xu Shaoshi in a video conference with the enforcement taskforce. Country Garden Group, the property developer owned by Yang Huiyan, the 26-year-old woman listed as China's richest person on Forbes' 2007 survey of the country's wealthy, was suspected by the ministry of acquiring land at no cost from the local Zhangjiajie, a national park in Hunan province.
