Langham Hotels International has signed a management contract signed with Union Land Property Development to run the brand new five-star Langham Place Hotel, Beijing, which is scheduled to open next year. This marks a significant first step for Langham Hotels International’s development in China.
The new hotel will be in Chao Yang District, close to Chang An Avenue and the foreign embassy district. The Hotel forms a part of the Chao Yang Plaza, a large-scale project including two complexes — South and North — with a total surface area of 400,000 square metres.
Dr. KS Lo, Chairman, Langham Hotels International (seen in our illustration) signed the management contract.
The hotel will feature 5,000 sqm of multi-purpose function space including three ballrooms which makes it a MICE hotel. The hotel will also house a Chuan Spa and Residences based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy of a journey to wellness.
‘This is the first step for Langham Hotels International in creating a presence in China,’ said Dr. KS Lo, Chairman of Langham Hotels International. ‘We aim to increase our investments in the mainland through building our own hotels, joint venture partnerships and acquiring further management contracts.’
