[photopress:meridien.jpg, full, alignright]A new business hotel in Shanghai, Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, is in the People’s Square area. This is the first China opening for a Le Méridien branded hotel after Starwood acquired the international brand.
Akram Touma, the new general manager, who is originally from Australia; prior to coming to Shanghai e was general manager of The Westin Resort Macau for five years. On the key matter which concerned him during pre-opening he said the important points were:
Procurement of hotel operating equipment, which is time consuming, recruiting the right team and establishing the right culture from the beginning.
Now to MICE matters. (For those who have not been paying attention MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.)
On this Akram Touma waxes poetic. Or perhaps the public relations person does.
