Chinese technology and entertainment company LeEco staged a showy US debut Wednesday, but its presentation raised as many questions as it answered. At an event in San Francisco, LeEco said it would begin selling smartphones and smart TVs in the US on November 2. But Chief Executive Jia Yeuting said in an interview that only 100,000 phones would initially be available, and that he didn’t know how many smart TVs will be available by the launch date, according to The Wall Street Journal. LeEco’s smartphone business, which is growing rapidly in China, combines entertainment with its phones. In the US, it said it would sell the Le Pro3 smartphone with 64GB of storage and a 5.5-inch screen for $399, with an initial rebate of $100.
