Lenovo to launch tablet PC in March

Lenovo is expected to roll out its Le Pad tablet in China next month and will start selling in other countries in May.

The retail price of the LePad is expected to be between US$400 and US$1,000.

CapitalVue reported Lenovo as saying it has fixed a problem with its liquid crystal panel supply so a May launch worldwide is now possible.

Computers are still Lenovo’s major revenue source. Revenue from laptop and desktop computers respectively reached US$3.4 billion and US$2 billion in the last quarter.

Lenovo has 10.2% of the world market, and its market share in China in that quarter rose to 32.2%.

Now Lenovo has switched its focus to mobile internet, releasing a variety of Le phones in conjunction with China Unicom. During the third quarter last year, about 230,000 Le Phones were delivered.
