Lenovo's app store seen boosting sales

Goldman Sachs believes Lenovo will be the main brand in China’s smartphone market as the company has invaluable local experience.

A Goldman Sachs report said Lenovo has great brand appeal in China. It also said Lenovo Group’s LeGarden will be strongly helped by the rapid expansion of its online mobile applications store and its close cooperation with China’s key telecom operators.

Lenovo has made an initial RMB100 million (US$15 million) investment in a fund that provides seed money to mainland software developers who build programs for the company’s Chinese online mobile applications store, LeGarden.

Tailored specifically for Chinese customers, LeGarden is an app store launched by the Lenovo Group to sell its independent technology.

iStock reports LeGarden serves users of both Lenovo smartphones and tablet computers.
