DHL-Sinotrans, joint venture of global logistics company DHL, announced it
would invest an additional US$200 million in China over the next five years.
company will use the money to expand and enhance its existing gateways in Beijing,
Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, add 14 new regional branches, buy 1,200 new
vehicles and recruit more staff.
DHL said it has experienced an annual growth of
between 35 percent and 45 percent during the past three years in China.
FedEx Corp earlier announced it would add 100 Chinese cities to its network over the next
five years and plans to create a separate China business unit in Shanghai in order to take
advantage of the country's booming air freight market.
