Vice-Premier Wu Yi announced that a closer economic partnership
agreement (CEPA) between Macau and China would be signed "very soon".
Macau government sources said the CEPA signing would be witnessed
by Vice-President Zeng Qinghong in Macau on Friday.
The Macau CEPA is expected to be largely identical to the CEPA signed by Hong Kong and the mainland on
June 29.
It is hoped that the CEPA will jumpstart progress on the
proposed Macau-Zhuhai cross-border industrial park.
Macau currently
has a 6.4 percent unemployment rate.
