Macau to get Playboy Mansion

A Playboy Mansion is planned for Macau as Asia's gambling capital bids to move toward more diversified entertainment, the Wall Street Journal reported. Playboy Enterprises and Macau Studio City announced on Wednesday that they have formed a joint venture to open the 40,000-square-foot Playboy Mansion Macau in late 2009. The mansion, which will offer nightlife, entertainment, dining and shopping activities as well as overnight accommodation in the Hugh M. Hefner Villa, will be part of the US$2 billion Studio City hotel and casino complex being built in the Cotai district. "We knew Macau made sense for the brand as an entertainment destination," said Hugh Hefner, founder and chief creative officer of Playboy. Manuel Joaquim Das Neves, director of Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, said the Playboy development would help, not hinder, plans to turn Cotai into a focal point for conventions, sports events and family holidays.
