A large thermal power plant is to be built in the city of Pinghu, situated in the north of Zhejiang province. The Yn10.2bn plant will consist of four generating units, each with a capacity of 600MW. It expects to go into operation in June 2006.
The Hong Kong-listed Shandong International Power Development Company has pledged to invest Yn12.6bn on building new power plants in Shandong and southwest China. The new plants will more than double the company’s capacity to 7,760MW.
