[photopress:IT_genuine_Olympics_page.jpg,full,alignright]A man in Hainan, south China, has been arrested for fraud for operating a phony official Olympics Web site.

Twenty-year-old Liao Peigui, who works as a computer engineer, is suspected of making RMB400,000 ($52,630) by offering fake prize draws on a Web site he cloned from the official one of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG). Our illustration shows the genuine article.

The police said the man has admitted the crime.

China launched a six-month campaign this April targeting online pornography, illegal lotteries, contraband trade and fraud.
