Maoye shares suspended following investigation reports

Huang Maoru, the chairman of department store operator Maoye International Holdings, has been implicated in the investigations into former Gome Electrical Appliances chairman Huang Guangyu and former Shenzhen mayor Xu Zongheng, the South China Morning Post reported, citing a report on a website set up by former Caijing editor Hu Shuli. Maoye’s shares dropped 11.2% on Tuesday in Hong Kong before being suspended from trading. It is unknown how Huang Maoru is connected to Huang Guangyu or Xu, or if the Maoye chief had been arrested or detained. Huang Guangyu, also known by the Cantonese romanization of his name, Wong Kwong-yu, was detained in Beijing last November for alleged "economic crimes."
