Marriott 11th Beijing hotel in 2008

[photopress:marriott_swimming_pool_1.jpg,full,alignright]Marriott International will open its 11th hotel in Beijing in 2008 under a management agreement reached with Beijing Huhua Real Estate Development. The 19-storey hotel will be called the Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall and will have 615 guest rooms.

Position is at the intersection of the Second-Ring Road (east) and the Beijing Railway Station East Road. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development on a 9,000-square meter site about 1.5 kilometers west of the Beijing central business district and two kilometers east of Wangfujing, Beijing’s main shopping district.

Guest rooms at the Beijing Marriott City Wall Hotel will set new standards for size in this level of hotel as will the bathrooms which will be very large. Not, you understand, that you would host a party in one but you probably could if you were very keen and with close friends. (Our illustration, sadly, is NOT of the bathroom, which has yet to be built. It is of a swimming pool at another Marriott hotel but it gives the idea of space and water.)

This is another MICE hotel with 1,940 square meters of space for meeting and including a 1,220-square meter ballroom that will be divisible into five sections; a 145-square meter meeting room that will be divisible into two sections; and six additional meeting rooms in assorted configurations.

Marriott also has under construction the 258-room Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast (opening late 2007) and the 591-room JW Marriott Hotel Beijing, the 540-room Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel and the 320-room The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, all of which open in 2008.
