Mazda applying for RMB 1.2bn China expansion

China said Japanese automaker Mazda applied to set up an RMB 1.2 billion joint venture with China FAW group in Hainan. If approved, it will be the third collaboration between the two companies. The Hainan government will take a 2% stake in the venture and Mazda and FAW will each hold 49%.
