Media revenue tipped for 25% annual growth

Mainland entertainment and media revenue will grow by 25% annually, reaching US$86 billion by 2008, a PricewaterhouseCoopers report said. PwC said internet users and online advertisers would drive growth, along with TV subscriptions. In the just-released report, PwC said internet users would increase at a rate of 800,000 a week, reaching 260 million in 2008, when PwC projects internet-related spending would reach US$63.6 billion. TV subscription revenue should rise from US$2.3 billion now to US$7 billion, PwC said.
