Mercedes drivers wealthiest among China's luxury car owners

Mercedes-Benz owners have the highest average household assets of any luxury car owners in China at RMB11.3 million (US$1.8 million), Bloomberg reported, citing a survey by the Hunrun Reseach Institute. The firm surveyed 800 premium car owners in ten cities, and found that the average luxury-car owner in China is 33.5 years of age, with an annual household income of RMB984,000. Volkswagen AG’s Audi is associated with government bureaucrats, while BMWs signify members of the new rich. Infiniti drivers had the lowest average wealth among the group, at RMB6.44 million.
