Military-related industries to go public

China will encourage military-related industries to expand into the manufacturing and trading of products for civil use and to raise funds through capital markets, according to a report released by the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense. Investors have gained a strong interest in military industrial giants that have the potential to develop non-military businesses by raising capital through the stock market, state media reported. In 2006, banks, real estate, and other fund managers found a host of hot investment sectors to pursue in the A-share market.
