Mitsubishi to form gas turbine JV

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to launch a gas turbine joint venture with Dongfang Electrical Corp, according to a Japanese media report. The turbines will be fuelled by natural gas, which produces less than 50% of the nitrogen-oxide emissions of coal-fuelled steam turbines, the report said. The joint venture will be the first time for Mitsubishi Heavy to manufacture such turbines in an overseas market.
