More breaks for consumers

Shanghai Wanbang Cruises said it would compensate passengers for late departures of its cruise ship, billed as China's only five-star luxury liner. The move comes just a week after China Southern Airlines announced a compensation scheme for flight delays. Travelers on the Wanbang Holiday will receive discounts of 5% of their ticket price if the ship sets sail an hour late. A five-hour delay would net passengers a 30% rebate, the company said. The liner does weekly runs between Shanghai and Putuoshan Island, a Buddhist holy site off the coast of Zhejiang province.
