Nearly 180 cyber crimes were solved during November and more than 460 suspects were arrested for their involvement, China’s Ministry of Public Security said Tuesday.
Fourteen websites were shut during the month for allegedly providing hacker software, training hackers and organizing cyber attacks.
An unnamed ministry official said, "Our country’s cyber crime situation is still very grave," adding that the number of cyber attack cases soared by more than 80% annually.
Sify reported that the frequent hacker attacks were attributed to many computers not having protection software and internet users’ low awareness.
