Mövenpick to enter China market

Swiss company Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal to with King Land Real Estate to launch its first hotel in China. The newly built, 300-room Movenpick Hotel Shanghai in China will open in early 2013.
The hotel is located in the Jiading district close to Shanghai International Circuit and Kunshan city.
Mövenpick is structured as a holding company with four independently operating business units: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Marché International and Mövenpick Restaurants, Mövenpick Wine and Mövenpick Fine Foods. Mövenpick is present in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America.
At the end of 2009 the group employed 16,200 people worldwide.
Saudi Gazette  reports Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts aims to have five to 10 hotels in China over the next five years through a combination of strategic alliances as well as further management contracts.
