[photopress:MozWebHomeWork2.gif,full,alignright]Mozilla.org, the California-based software producer, is going to open an office in Beijing. Mozilla is already involved in a non-for-profit foundation in China supporting open-source software projects, but the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, John Lilly, said the new office will be its first real corporate presence in the country.

Mozilla produces software application Firefox which is an alternative to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Lilly commented, ‘My main goal is that people know there’s a choice – that going on the Internet is not just clicking the blue ‘E’,’referring to Microsoft’s desktop icon.

Mozilla.org has about 80 million to 100 million users worldwide and roughly one million in China.
