Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Beijing on Sunday looking to reach a series of strategic agreements with China, AFP reported. China is already heavily involved in the construction of roads, ports and power plants in Pakistan, and trade between the two countries increased to US$4.25 billion in 2005, up from US$3.06 billion the previous year. However, there are concerns about the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan following the murder of three engineers in the southwest of the country on February 15. Musharraf was due to meet President Hu Jintao for talks on Monday.
