Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, while visiting Beijing this week, condemned the killers of three Chinese engineers by tribal militants in his country and promised the "harshest punishment", state media reported. Thirteen agreements were signed to fight terrorism, separatism and religious extremism, as well as on energy cooperation to help set up Pakistan's nuclear power program and to provide loans to buy Chinese goods. Other agreements covered health, family planning, meteorological research, fisheries, pesticide management and vocational training. President Hu Jintao said: "China-Pakistan relations have stood the test of time and international ups-and-downs since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 55 years ago."
