Nanjing-Qidong Railway double tracking

Nanjing-Qidong Railway is being changed to double tracking which means apart from a doubling of capacity it will be possible to run high speed passenger and freight trains on separate lines.

Nanjing-Qidong railwayThe Nanjing-Qidong Railway double tracking renovation project in Nantong, east China’s Jiangsu Province, is moving rapidly ahead. Our illustration shows a crane in action.
Note that when completed it will connect into the Beijing-Shanghai which runs via Tianjin, Jinan, Xuzhou, Bengbu and Nanjing.
China View reports the project, extending to a full length of 268.3 km linking Nanjing and Qidong, involves an investment of $1.9 billion.
