In what must be a nearly record air lift within 18 days Air China took nearly 10,000 pilgrims to Mecca.
To carry the amazing number, more than 30 Air China flights were operated from Beijing, Lanzhou, Yinchuan and Kunming.
Special meals were provided to passengers on these flights according to their religious customs and beliefs.
Trading Markets reported the airline has also arranged for charter flights to return pilgrims from Mecca to China following the end of the Hajj festivities, which run between December 2 and 23.
